The original raised wall had a thin 1-inch stone over a 3-inch mortar bed — and after years of water damage, the tile was falling off in sheets. We stripped it all down, replaced it with a solid 4-inch hand-chipped stone for a natural edge, and refinished the pool in a medium blue Pebble Tec with glass beads. This one's built to hold.
